ingrèdiènts
  • 1/2 cup shortèning or 8 tablèspoons softènèd unsaltèd buttèr
  • 1 1/2 cups granulatèd sugar
  • 3 èggs
  • 1 tèaspoon purè vanilla or chocolatè èxtract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purposè flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powdèr
  • 2 tablèspoons black cocoa
  • 1/4 tèaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 tèaspoons baking powdèr
  • 1/2 tèaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup wholè milk
for thè chèrriès
  • 2 cups pittèd chèrriès
  • 2 tablèspoons amarètto
  • 1/2 cup granulatèd sugar
  • 1 tablèspoon Clèar Jèl or cornstarch
for thè frosting
  • 2 cups hèavy whipping crèam
  • 3/4 cup powdèrèd sugar
instructions
  1. Prèhèat ovèn to 350°F. Grèasè two 8 or 9-inch round cakè pans and linè with parchmènt rounds, if you havè thèm.
  2. In a largè bowl, bèat shortèning/buttèr and sugar until fluffy, thèn mix in èggs and èxtract.
